Saint Malo - The City

Inside the walls of the citadel is a vibrant city with homes, schools, businesses, narrow picturesque streets and bars and restaurants.  Around the city is a very large locked harbor supporting both commerical and pleasure marine industry.

We get a great parking spot next to this ship which is open for tours.

In the port, we find racing yachts, the French tall ship Belem, and commercial maritime industries and a pleasure sailboat marina. When we return on the weekend the Belem will have departed.

The streets are narrow and each has its own character. CJ recalls the last time he viewed this steeple.  It was in the waning days of 1999 and projected on the steeple was the number of hours until 2000.
