Approaching Christmas

There were only 20 people in an empty theater to watch a Tuesday afternoon matinee performance of the new Star Wars movie; and school is out for the Christmas and summer holidays!  Leffe Bruin is finally back on draft at the Belgium pub.  While on that side of town, we had dinner at Amalfi, an Italian restaurant we remembered from our time living here. That's saltimbocca and barramundi.

Thursday was busy with physio appointments followed by a trip to the market. We had lunch at the Dumpling King in Chinatown which is adjacent to the market. The dumplings in hot oil are incredible. The steamed dumplings with their special spicy paste aren't too shabby either.
With a bouquet of flowers in hand, CJ leaves Carol to shop while he catches one of the free city buses over to our bank on Hutt St. There he traded the wonderful lady who worked so diligently to get our debit cards the bouquet for the cards. Sore back and all, he exited the free bus at Adelaide Botanical Gardens for an extended return walk. He not touring the gardens, just using it to pass through. Even though there are many beautiful things to see along the walk. Adelaide's climate enables quite a variety in the gardens.

By the time he passed Adelaide Zoo and reached the Torrens River, his backed needed relief. Fortunately just as he arrives at the river Popeye arrives at its most upriver stop.  He's extremely lucky.  On weekdays only one of the three boats operates and makes the run once an hour. He catches it for the short cruise down the river. It's a beautiful ride. It is A5$ well spent.

Carol is still at the market when CJ arrives back at the apartment. It's time to make ready for Christmas Dinner with the Mullins.
