A morning in the winery

We arrived at Phil's Longwood Winery anticipating lunch with he and Lauren. Signals were apparently crossed. Lauren is on the kitchen floor grouting the tiles. CJ finds Phil and his mate, Pat, emptying wine barrels, washing them, and refilling the wine and topping them off.

Phil is tipping the transfer barrel while Pat finishes refilling the barrel after washing.

After they empty the barrel, they rotate it so that the opening is facing down. That homemade gizmo is a wine barrel pressure washer. It squirts pressurized water into the barrel at timed intervals. The water drains to the floor and down a drain built into the floor.
Phil is transferring the wine from this barrel into the holding tank.
The only thing that interrupted the process was Phil periodically running to the loft to check the status of the US presidential election. He was more interested than us.

When Lauren completes her work she arrives. She and CJ walk up to the wine storage shed to select bottles for tasting. They return with five bottles to sample. We'll return later in the week and purchase a case of two of them.
