Thanksgiving in Mourning

CJ's favorite aunt and  godmother passed on Thanksgiving Day just before her 87th birthday. We traveled to Pennsylvania  to mourn her passing with cousins and his remaining aunt. She was every bit as beautiful on the inside and she was stunning.

During the overnight in Pittsburgh, we walked the downtown Christmas market and had another wonderful meal at the Church Brewery, This is a brewery built inside an abandoned Catholic Church.  The brewing equipment sits in the area once occupied by the altar. A growler and fill of pumpkin stout cost $15.

Prior  to traveling to the afternoon viewing we passed by the Phipps Conservatory for their Winter Light Garden  and Flower Show featuring the Garden Railroad. Had we not been in the vicinity for this somber event we would have returned in the evening for the  Candlelight Evenings version of the show. The gardens and displays are augmented by the incomparable glass sculptures of Dale Chihuly.
