Underground Serbian Orthodox Church

The town of Coober Pedy, on the road between Yalara and Adelaide, is so hot in the summer that some hotels, homes, and businesses have been built underground. The Comfort Inn is built underground.

The Serbian orthodox church is built underground. This is the buried church with the roof carved out of stone. This is the view looking toward the alter. The second picture is looking the opposite way toward the choir. The choir has a stained-glass window.
