Homemade Beef Stew

CJ has wanted a good old-fashioned beef stew like dad used to make. A thick flavorful stew good for dipping bread into.

Carol purchases good beef for the stew. This is a labor intensive task and CJ does the braising when making things like this. She has also decided to make a different but similar beef cheek recipe. One afternoon, Carol trims beef while CJ braises both the cubes and the cheeks. 

The result is days of delicious beef stew and more days of delicious beef cheeks.

Another result was a complete mess of hot oil spatter throughout the kitchen: floor, cooking surface, and glass backsplash.
