The trials of moving

We must completely furnish the house. We already have two mattresses and one queen foundation. We have a few kitchen items and office items that we've been storing with the Mullins when we're out of the country but mostly we must start from scratch.

We get off to a rocky start. Some jerk has blocked us in with a broken luggage cart. We take a picture, complain at the desk and move it to the most likely culprits parking space.
We begin stacking the kitchen appliances at Tomsey. When your landlords are some of your best friends, the precise date of moving in and access are informal. We'll continue to store in Tomsey until the movers transfer the bedding.

Another annoying thing about this year's rental is the assigned parking space. Had we had a full time vehicle, we would have insisted on a change. The next week we are partially blocked in. Earlier in the visit we had a car on the left side and it took an hour to maneuver out. Once they assigned a huge SUV with a giant trailer hitch.
The movers charge by the hour so we reduce cost by taking the small stuff load by load.

Originally we reserved the car for four days. We eventually made life simple and kept it for nearly two weeks.
