Bar Torino

We have previously visited Ballaboosta located at the corner of Halifax and Hutt. In the other direction on the corner of Carrington and Hutt, literally the same two or three blocks from our house is Bar Torino. It has been recommended by James and Jackie.

On a cold evening, we decide to give it a go. An indoor table next to a warming fireplace, a very good gnocchi and a fine wine from the crazies at Unico Zelo in the Adelaide Hills and we're sold on a second go to local restaurant.

An Asian waiter strikes up a conversation. What are the odds. Discussing his travels around the world he mentions time in the US including his time at Uni at Syracuse University. What are the chances he has met another Syracuse graduate?

We were introduced to Unico Zelo at the height of the lockdown when one weekend Tourism Australia ran a weekend of podcasts to entertain those of us shut-in. The owners of this winery are zany. Apparently they also make good wine; and name it cleverly. Pastafarian is an excellent wine to pair with pasta.
