CJ needs a tool to change the seat on his bike to one more comfortable and he needs to walk to a Home Depot-like place (Bunnings Warehouse) to purchase supplies to build and complete a Christmas present begun at the Charlottesville farmers market . So begins our third week and 17th day in Australia.
We're into our routine now. Carol is making her regular visits to the Adelaide Central Market (ACM). CJ is visiting our favorite physio with a regular schedule for the remainder of our stay and getting into his walking routine, this year augmented by his biking routine.
Today his walk takes him first to the Adelaide Tennis Center. Something has changed and he can't find the business end of the place. Where he thought it was is now a commercial fitness business. From there he walks to the Weir, the dam that turns the Torrens River into a small lake. The Popeye water taxi is just turning at the Weir.
He checks out the North Adelaide Par 3 golf course and their club rentals. The Par 3 is one of three, the other two being full length 18-hole courses with the South course far superior to the North course.
Crossing the weir, he continues along the Torrens River in the direction of the sea until he comes to a tunnel under the northbound rail tracks.
After walking past the old Adelaide Gaol (jail), he returns to the apartment via the "almost an oval" where the Lady Strikers open their home season Friday night.
Carol has found a new restaurant in town for dinner. Josh, the bartender, is personable and the food is very good. Mallozzi is small plate Italian and the bistro end of the head chef's three restaurants. Perhaps during our stay we'll work our way up the line from Mallozzi to Blackwood and to the fine dining restaurant, Orana. The first two courses are arancini stuffed with artichoke hearts and ricotta and a ceviche of local fish. This was followed by two pasta samplings. Four small plates and we had no room to split the risotto.
