Mixed Weather Weekend

On Saturday morning, CJ retrieved his bike.  He is thankful for the bike lanes on Adelaide's CBD streets.
In the afternoon we walked a couple of blocks to the Leigh Street Christmas market.
It wasn't much of a market but we lunched at Udaberri. A sweet offering sounded to good for Carol to pass on.  She never goes for a sweet main.  CJ had their take on a Spanish omelet and it was marvelous.
This is a light, unfiltered wine from the Basque region of Spain.  The label is written in the Basque language.

Following a big brunch, dinner watching cricket is good SA wine and fine cheeses with a bit of meat.

Adelaide hosts a major caroling concert in Elder Park this evening.  We are rousted from bed by the unexpected fireworks.  They explode less than a couple hundred yards away and at about the same level as our apartment. We are looking level at or down on many of the fireworks! These are going to be great New Year's Eve seats when the fireworks go on much longer.

Sunday morning brings more rain. Carol takes a short walk for shopping.  With the arrival of sunlight, CJ goes for his first Adelaide recreational walk. The summer park at Pinky Flats isn't there this year.
Last year this grassy area was a volleyball court, pool, booths for drinks, food and recreation.

The stage for last evening's concert has already been dismantled.

CJ takes pictures of our building and apartment.
Photographed above is our apartment building and Trinity Church where we went to the caroling concert. The picture below shows North Terrace with the Adelaide Convention Center on the left and our building front and center on the right.  Unlike last year when we were on the reverse right side of the 14th floor, this year we have the corner apartment closest to the camera on the 10th floor. The top floor is the 17th. The super balcony floors are 14 to 17.
How cold has it been.  While Carol was shopping today she purchased this inexpensive Aussie sweatshirt to wear until the weather turns.
