Carol has a book of the top 100 wines of South Australia. We've elected to forego our usual trip to McLaren Vale with our first car and visit the Adelaide Hills. The winding mountain road to the hills is one of CJ's all time driving favorites. Today he drives it with great control to keep Carol from getting sick. We are in search of one of the obscure vineyards in the book. Not only don't we find it but GPS delivers us to a gravel driveway where we're presented with a hairy turn around. There doesn't appear to be such a winery.
Along the way, the drive is beautiful. Up and down winding roads and through passes and ridges. We pass by cherry fields at the height of the harvest.
In fact, we can't find Jericho, the second winery. We pass a beef farm and an alpaca farm.
Arriving at the GPS location of Jericho, we find O'Leary Walker. The cellar door manager, Tara, has no knowledge of such a place. We taste and snack here. We'll call it lunch.
Returning to the city, we make shopping stops for a printer, bathroom scale, and clothing.
Fear of the need for pre-Cricket dining in the CBD, we return for Wednesday night specials at the Oyster Bar in Glenelg on the beach.
