Strangler Fig

On CJ's circumnavigation ride, while passing through the Adelaide Botanic Park, not to be confused with the adjacent Adelaide Botanic Gardens, there is a group of massive strangler figs. They are in the Botanic Gardens as well. Check out the base on the tree middle-right. It is huge. They make riding this sidewalk difficult in a skinny wheel road bike. The strangler roots have buckled the pavement in many places.

Today's ride was along the north side of the river where CJ paused for a brief drink break and to take a picture of from left to right: the yet to open SkyCity hotel & casino, Adelaide Railway Station & casino (forground), Stamford Hotel (background), Hotel Intercontinental, Adelaide Convention Centre.
