While shopping at it, the bartender from across the street invited us over to his bar. Prohibition is the current cellar door for a rival gin distillery. They are in the process of moving the distillery to this CBD location.
The final day with the car is busy. It begins with brekkie with Bronwyn and Neil at The Flying Fig in North Adelaide. That's an egg sandwich with a jalapeƱo chili and avocado.
We drive into the Adelaide Hills in search of white wine. We get sidetracked and attempt to find the holiday rental Smithfield neighbors have booked. GPS leads us astray but perseverance and just plain driving up two driveway in fear of our lives prevails. We locate the place they'll stay.
By the time we find it lunch calls and we have a marvelous pizza at Prancing Pony Brewery.
We stop at a farm specialty business for some Carol purchases. The place is a zoo and the lines horrendous. We leave without purchase. Passing through Hahndorf, we're reminded why we rarely visit. The city is always filled with tourists. Just before entering the expressway, we pass what remains of Grumpys. When we lived in Adelaide it had the best pizza and before the craft beer craze hit Australia, Andrew brewed the best home brew in the country.
By the time we return to the city, Hertz is closed and we can't return the car early. The tram delivers us to the east side where we meet James and Jackie for drinks at The Stag and NOLO. After separating, we have dinner at Burger Theory. Returning home, we're treated to one of our best sunsets.
The day CJ goes for a walk. On the outbound route he stops in at the Oval to find the Sydney practicing in the nets.
He walks to the Zoo and back along the river. Shown is one of the many rowing clubs located on the banks of the river.
On his return he finds the Adelaide Strikers having a team meet on the field.
He walks back to the apartment and up the elevator with five of the Thunder players.
