Longer Bike Ride & Bash

CJ begins the day with a bike ride.  He decides to avoid a return down busy North Terrace by taking a clockwise approach to the ride. He begins on North Tce and Port Road crossing into the parklands and under the rail lines to the river trail.  After crossing the Weir he rides the trail along the north side of the river to Adelaide Zoo.  During the ride he's treated to a concert happening in Elder Park.  Perhaps the rap music wasn't a treat.

He traverses Botanic Park and passes the National Wine Centre before entering the east parklands.
After crossing the two main roads that make up the Tour Down Under Santos Classic, he enters Victoria Park where construction is underway for Adelaide's March motorcar race. Construction begins in December for the March race.

The beginning work on the main grandstand is on the left and the pit row service garages are on the left.  The picture looks down the start/finish straight away.
The city looks far off from here.  Our apartment is on the OTHER side of the city.  At this point, CJ has come from over on the other side and is about a quarter of the way through his ride.
Parts of the ride in the Parklands are through tree-lined beauty.
It is CJ's longest ride to date as he builds up for the ride in the Family Fun Ride of the Santos Classic of the Tour Down Under.

This evening we attend the Strikers Big Bash League (BBL) match.  We've copped the prime seats in the Bodyline Bar.  It's easy to do when you're the first into the Bodyline.  CJ is the bloke responsible for having the windows opened. It's hard to believe that CJ had occupied these same first come first served seats during two days of last year's Ashes and at least four other BBL matches.  They should put our names on them!
From our seats we can view the historic scoreboard, two modern scoreboards and the televised coverage.

Tonight the home team loses but it's one of the few times we've stayed to the finish.  The downside is fighting the mass of humanity across the Footbridge back to our apartment.
