Adelaide Oval Tour

CJ tried something a bit different today. He biked to his Pilates session and afterwards, biked about the city visiting the bike shop and checking out progress on construction of the race car track in Victoria Park.
In the afternoon, he finally booked a tour of the Adelaide Oval; and lucked out. The tour he was booked out of last year, this time ended up being a private tour when he was the only one to show up.

The tour begins in the cricket and footy memorabilia areas which flank the media center, a room for 140+journalists.  It's flanked on both ends by the radio and television broadcasts booths.
On the way to the next major attraction we pass through one of the outdoor bars, this one facing the city.  We view the Oval from our apartment.  This is the view of our apartment from the Oval.
Next stop is in the eastern stands.  Most of one floor are taken by the Audi Club.  It's a huge club with dining tables, bars, and third deck seating.

Next stop is the one of a kind historic Adelaide scoreboard.  This is CJ's second time inside. It is a technological marvel in terms of turn of the LAST century technology. It's all about wires, gears, bicycle chains, pulleys and ancient electrical circuits.

During some point in the life of the Oval, authorities decided that folks in North Adelaide could get a free look at the cricket.  They planted view-blocking trees.  This is what the trees look like today.
The next stop in the Sheffeld Shield Room, home of the long form of cricket at the state level in Australia.

After that we tour the visiting team dressing room, walk across the Oval and climb up to the Test cricket team viewing and waiting room and to the team lunch room.

CJ returns through the Adelaide railway station and finally has a chance to photograph the tram car with Strikers advertising.
