World View - What do Aussies Think?

How long ago were the bushfires?  How long ago were Australians calling for the head of Prime Minister Scott Morrison or ScoMo as he’s called in the Aussie-crazy abbreviation society.
It’s all a matter of perspective.  While trump my consider COVID-19 the “Chinese” virus, Australians have every right to see it as the US Virus even though their first case hails from China on January 25.  Since then the bad behavior of Americans in Australia has been instrumental in the spread.

We were on the verge of renting a car and making a wine run to the Barossa when we were waved off by good friends; a group of American tourists shut down the Barossa.

One would think that, like in the US, letters to the editors in the local papers would be limited to local, state, or national issues. People in the rest of the world get out more than Americans.  US news is parochial and US-centric.  Travel through Europe, Asia, or Australia and there is a good deal of coverage of the US.

Here is a letter to the editor in the Adelaide, Australia newspaper.
And then there is an Australian editorialist view of the world order when it comes to leaders.  One might thing the editorialist is touting Aussie competence over American and British.  This editorialist is more objective than that.  Read!  Here is an objective journalist.  Remember when we had those in the US.  Remember when we didn’t have the Joseph Goebbels Award winning Fox News Fake News Network (FNFNN).  Remember true journalism with the likes of Walter Cronkite, Howard K. Smith, Frank Reynolds, and in more modern time Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather?

This isn’t an Aussie piece about an Aussie leader, this is an objective piece which would be unpublishable in the US.
And finally, for this installment, these desperate times calls for leaders.  They call for leaders with leadership skills, they call for leaders with vision, they call for leaders with humility.  In Australia we have one.  In New Zealand they have one.  Nuff said!
