Adelaide Fringe Venues

Fringe venues are scattered throughout the greater metropolitan Adelaide area. Hotels, pubs and restaurants throughout the city are filled with events. Parks throughout the city are filled with events.

There are theaters in the northern suburbs with events.  Theaters in the western suburbs.  One of the events we attend is at the Morphett Ville Racetrack. Events are being held as far north as Salisbury; a bit too far for an Uber ride.

And then there are the two main venues in Rymill Park: Gluttony and The Garden of Unearthly Delights. These venues straddle Rundle Street.  They are large chunks of parkland. Each contains a few pop-up bars, many food trucks, snack trucks, small entertainment venues and a large number of large entertainment venues. The number of venues grows every year.  The size of Gluttony and The Garden of Unearthly Delights grows each year.

The Garden of Unearthly Delights remains unrivaled as Australia’s most vibrant and dynamic festival precinct.

Each year, The Gardeners, a partnership between Strut & Fret Production House and Buxton Walker, create a unique festival playground including multiple performance venues, bars, carnival rides, an array of world foods, market stalls and the most unexpected sideshow surprises.

The Garden began with just one Spiegeltent in 2000. Over the past 19 years it’s evolved into the greatest arts event in town and the heart of Adelaide’s summer arts festival season.

In 2019 The Garden’s 14.4 acre precinct included 16 temporary performance spaces, hosted over a 2700 performances and engaged over 800,000 visitors across 31 days. Our programming is award-winning and internationally recognised, receiving 14 weekly Fringe Awards in 2019.

Gluttony offers an eclectic array of venues across two sites, ranging from the large and lively to the intimate and atmospheric, and accommodating a diverse and exciting entertainment program.

Gluttony’s got something for all tastes, from weekend shows for the whole family to late night laughs, spanning the genres of theatre, cabaret, circus, magic, comedy, dance, music, spoken word, burlesque, and children’s entertainment. There are now at least 17 major venues in Gluttony.

In addition to the 160+ fabulous Fringe acts performing within Gluttony, you’ll find two dining precincts offering a diverse range of delicious cuisines, bars serving fine wines, local beer and top-shelf spirits, family-friendly activities including a Dart Blaster Arena, and multiple areas to chill and watch the world go by at our open-air party in the park.
