"Half Day" Game Drive in the Mara (After Lunch)

We arrive at the border between Kenya and Tanzania.  Leonard is pointing to the Tanzania side. Not far from there our picnic lunch is setup.  What is strange is that we are alone in the bush which is typically a big no-no.

How this for digesting lunch?  The first thing we come across is a bunch of vultures beginning to take apart a young (brown stripes) zebra carcass left by some large predator.
That's followed by elephant with wildebeest and more wildebeest.

Down the road a bit, CJ captures a Cape Buffalo, gazelle and giraffe in the same frame.

We inform Leonard that we've had enough and he's to only stop for big stuff such as elephant, lion, rhino, cheetah, or the elusive leopard. Shortly after we're surrounded by a herd of elephants. Some have already crossed the road and are moving on. The others numbering at least eight eventually pass in front and behind our vehicle.

A clear shot back to the lounge is interrupted by two lion cubs being summoned back to the adults.

Back at the camp, the ladies pass some time with the lawn mowing crew.  Those are warthogs.

As thus ended our "half day" game drive.  We departed at 0715 and returned to camp at 1800, more than ten and a half hours later.  Aren't half day game drives supposed to be about four hours?
