Kalleske Wines - First Day

With the new highway, the trip to the Barossa can be accomplished in an hour. We've arrived early and have time to kill. CJ has decided to enter the Barossa through Seppeltsfield. Since we're early, he tries to fit in a new winery, Kalleske. We're interested since we had a marvelous zinfandel (not an Australian grape) at a neighborhood Indian restaurant.

While searching for the cellar door, our attention is drawn to an amazingly restored 1955 Dodge truck. We discover it belongs to and marks the location of Kalleske.

The Kalleske facility is well done, picturesque and a fine place for events and tasting groups. Their back courtyard is particularly well done.

Alex is our server and she is excellent. The Kalleske line is much better than we imagined. We have made our way through the standard offerings when Alex informs us that she has a damaged bottle she'd like to share with us. We request she keep in until tomorrow when we have time to return.

In the words of McArthur, we shall return.
