There is a welcoming performance. Dancers and a dragon spreading good luck if you put your head in its mouth.
Miyako-jima is known for honeymoons and romance. It is a quiet island connected to a nearby sister island Ikema by the Ikema Bridge. It is 1,425 metres (4,675 ft)-long and was completed in February 1992. It is hard to believe that Japan constructed this bridge to connect two islands with very small populations. During the course of touring we cross over and back across the bridge.
At the far end of the island is a lighthouse. The sea scapes surrounding it are beautiful.
