Made the final day of Stout month at Mountain Sun in Boulder. The staff is incredible. It's a all for one, one for all kind of place. Everyone is your server and they are all GREAT. CJ had the Beef Cheek Babbacoa Taco. Normally he either ignores the rice and beans or eats them separately. He would have done the same until he mixed them. Blended they were heavenly. Carol had a burger with grilled poblano peppers, aged melted goat cheese and date paste. Again, heavenly.
They encouraged tasting of the entire range of stouts before ordering. We missed some good ones earlier in the mouth; those lucky locals.
Carol claims a healthy lunch since the pictured is a mushroom Stout. The other was their Oatimus Prime. Both were outstanding. The Oatmus was CJ's favorite and he doesn't normally like oat stouts.
The Pearl St. mall is always a pleasing walk. One of the neatest things about Boulder is that one block off the mall to the north is a residential neighborhood of older detached homes. They sit slightly above grade level and contribute to the cozy feel of Boulder.
The long day ends with drinks in the Marriott bar and a snack that we called dinner in the club lounge. The lounge attendant is a fascinating woman from Sri Lanka. She's amazed that we not only know of Sri Lanka but have Sri Lankan acquaintances. We have a great chat, long past the lounge closing before retiring.
