Golden Palace
Torrential rains give way to partial sunny and a worst very light rain by the time we drive from the hotel to the Golden Palace; the one attraction we missed on our last visit to Bangkok. This is the place where the actual king and Anna in Anna and the King of Siam lived. The pictures tell the entire story. Our guide Nancy was personable and knowledgeable.
The taxi ride to nahm, David Thomson's restaurant is harrowing. The driver delivers no confidence that he has a clue where he is going. This is the "must do" of Carol's Bangkok experience since she cooked with David on Aussie TV. Add to it the Bangkok traffic and heavy rain and our blood pressure is going through the roof. After the anxiety, we somehow arrive ten minutes before the restaurant opens.
