Toledo

21 years ago CJ visited Toledo and looking down on this magnificent vision thought about our Newport sailing life and its limitations. He's referred to it over the years as his "burning bush" experience (remember Moses?).  He returned from Spain, informed Carol that we were selling the sailboat and after a year of negotiating with her (helped along by her ACL surgery) the sailboat was gone and we were walking on the Great Wall of China. Today she finally understood what changed his passion from sailing to traveling.

Toledo is a very special city. Built on a tall crag created as a river created a natural moat around a medieval city, the view from the Paradore is magnificent. After a short hours drive from Madrid, we had time to walk the city where nary a flat street can be found.
