Wellington - Day 2 & 3

Exhaustion has delivered sleep, albeit in spurts around the coughing spells. We're fortunate this is our third time in Wellington. There is no pressure to venture on a voyage of discovery. Today that voyage discovers a Chemist Warehouse where we fill a bag with possible ways to speed CJ's discovery.

After having brekkie in the IHG's magnificent concierge lounge, lunch was taken at its afternoon English-like tea session and dinner at the evening cocktail hour. Our only venture outside the hotel was the block and a half walk to the pharmacy. Pictured is afternoon tea.

Two days in the room but at least we can enjoy watching activities on Wellington Harbour from our room and the lounge. They both have the same view, our room being one floor above the lounge.

We find it interesting that our tour cancelled the tour-ending ferry crossing claiming a lack of reliability and flew the group to Wellington on two chartered aircraft. From the hotel, it appears to us both ferried continue to run on schedule.

This concierge lounge is unique in that it has a brekkie chef and they don't just put out short order crap. This is Carol's avo toast. Great taste and who sees presentation at brekkie?
This is our third stay at this hotel. When CJ walked up to chef at brekkie, chef asked him if he still want feta cheese in his omelet. That is an impressive memory. Chef is also a personable fellow and always cooks CJ's omelet perfectly. The other fellow is the lounge manager. He replaced Frenchman Lucas and hails from Dublin.
The circumstances of this stay resign us to taking pictures of the orchids they have on each floor.
Daybreak over Wellington Harbour. The blue colored center of the pictures changes color throughout the evening cycling from blue to red to green to purple.
On the second day Carol isn't feeling well. CJ has no choice but to sally forth. The train will not accept the weight of our luggage. We must purchase a suitcase to spread the load. The hotel concierge suggests a secondhand stand in the train station.

CJ's circuitous route to the train station has him begin in the opposite direction and being called to a stop at Fork and Brewer. Imagine that!

This place has the most unique tap handles.
Lunch consists of salt & pepper squid, jalapeno poppers which are excellent, and a sampler padder of three stouts and a black lager. Life is good.

Now to purchase a suitcase.
