Most of the runners have concluded their marathon or half marathon but there remain many stragglers when CJ goes out for a walk. He walks counterclockwise around a part of the course. It is a nice walk along different parts of the Avon River. He crosses the street through Victoria Park. A sure sign of fall, the piles of leaves.
He turns back against the grain of the runners. This is a section of the course where runners are going both directions. CJ is in front of the town hall.
On the home stretch of the walk, he passes along another part of trails the Avon River. There is a gazebo in this section. That is Casa Publica in the foreground and our hotel (the tall building) in the background. It is one block away.
Lunch is once again at the Cooperative. Today Tom is the manager. He greets us by coming out from behind the bar and shaking CJ's hand and hugging Carol. Carol returns with a pizza. We're joined by a French couple from Rennes in Brittany. They are quite amazed to find us so knowledgeable about Brittany; in many respects more than them.
CJ enjoys a wheat beer, their beer that most closely resembles a Belgium. He follows it with a chili pilsner. It is much better than yesterday. He finishes with a milk stout.
We return to Casa Publica for dinner.
