Sunday morning we're called to the window by a strange siren sound. A vehicle with a flashing light is turning the corner on the next street. It is apparently the car leading out the runners of the Christchurch Marathon.
This marathon is a big deal. It normally draws 6000 people. This year it draws 7015. We can watch it from our room.
This is the course and our field of view from the room.
From breakfast, we get an even better view.
