North to Northern Lights Village

We travel farther north. Leaving Rovaniemi we get a panoramic view of Santa Claus Village.

There is a nice sunrise. It has snowed overnight and the plows are out.

We make a short stop at a historic church in Sodankyla. 

After lunch at a gas station (not much else around in these parts) we make a two-hour drive to Saariselka. Less than a kilometer from our overnight destination, another bus forces us off the road and we get stuck. Ironically, we're stuck in front of a Goodyear sign.

A half hour later, three vans from the resort arrive. They shovel allowing us to open the doors and exit the bus.

Vans transport us from our disabled bus to the next event, a dog pulled sleigh ride.

The big search is on. CJ cannot find his camera. Numerous people join in the search. The search area is not large. He had the camera getting out of the sleigh and the snow is hard pack on the 20 meters between the sleigh and the warming hut. The search is to no avail,

The phone/camera falls out of his sleigh ride suit after he takes it off.

We stay overnight at Northern Lights Village. Each of us has a cute individual hut with a glass roof to allow for views of the northern lights.
