The River Torrens - East Side

In order to stave off boredom, we vary our walks along the river.  Sometimes we take one of the Riverwalk trails that line each bank of the river. Other times we weave our way along the nearest streets overlooking the river.  On this day, we walked above the river on the Adelaide east side. The Adelaide east side is the south bank of the river.  The north bank of the river is the North Adelaide city side.

The Pathway of Honour is a tree-lined path running parallel to the river.  On it are monuments dedicated to the many units of the armed forces that served over the years.
At the next street we drop down to the street nearest the river.  A boathouse and Riverwalk can be seen on the other side. Riverwalk on this side is below the crest in the foreground.
On the east side the river winds its way from the center of the city to the Botanic Gardens, Frome Street and Adelaide Zoo.
The narrow iron bridge is the Adelaide Uni footbridge.  It crosses the river to the Uni cricket oval and boathouse.
Next stop on this day's walk is Botanic Park, flying foxes, and the Adelaide Botanical Gardens.
