South Parklands and Veale Gardens

Today we walk to the South Parklands which is on the opposite side of our North Parklands facing apartment.

Veale Gardens is part of the Adelaide Parklands throughout and surrounding the City of Adelaide. It is located in the South Parklands surrounded by Greenhill and Peacock Roads, South Terrace, and Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue. The gardens can be entered by entrances on South Terrace.

Featuring a garden of roses with over 50 varieties of rose on display, the gardens include two rose beds containing the City of Adelaide rose, located at the South Terrace entrance, and Queen Adelaide rose, located at the corner of South Terrace and Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue. It is the end of the season and most of the roses are in need of dead heading.

There are many walks through the parks taking you through gardens of water features, past the greenhouse, and through more lush shady areas. The gardens are also home to the Adelaide Pavilion restaurant and function centre, and is a popular location for weddings and wedding photography shoots.
There is a manmade stream running through the park.  The high rise apartments in the background are on South Terrace. As spring breaks back home, fall is upon us and the trees are turning.
There are many water features and water falls in this park.
A local lady has decided to get some fresh air during the stay at home period.  She's brought her bird.
The ducks are enjoying the stream.
Our next stop in the South Parklands, the sports fields and the Japanese garden.
