Opening the curtains in the morning we see hot air balloons, lots of them. By final count 30 of them!
We cross the Nile by boat this morningWe must pass through the small town on the west bank. Young girls going to school.These monuments mark the beginning of the route to the Valley of the Kings.Carol with her "boyfriend" or "guardian angel". Our guide has arranged for the cruise ship to provide personal assistants to the least fragile of the tourists. With Carol facing knee replacement in less than three weeks, she qualifies.

The tomb of Nefertari was closed for maintenance. This queen's tomb was substituted. It was another wife of Ramses; one he came to hate. He destroyed all the monuments marking the tomb's entrance.

The wall paintings are stunning.
After a very hot, sweaty, and strenuous morning, we're happy to return to the ship for lunch, a shower, and a pleasing afternoon cruise up the Nile.
