Luxor to Esna Lock Nile Cruise

Sun Goddess departs Luxor cruising up the Nile for an evening arrival at Esna. This is a Nile River tugboat.

For the most part, the banks of the river are an oasis.
There is no wind. The classic Nile River cruise boats, the Dahabeya, must forgo its two sails and be towed.
What we thought was a river bird on a small island turns out to be a solo fisherman.
The grounds of a Nile River resort.
At dinner the kitchen staff have a processional.
After dinner we arrive at Esna Lock.
Old Esna Lock is no longer used. It continues to be a speed brake for river traffic.
This mob of teen boys are dancing with Carol.
Esna is a large town with several minarets and church steeples.
They also have a small amusement park along the waterfront.
Once tied up, its time to close the curtains and get some shut eye.
