A day of compromise. We venture out for lunch at Bar Code Street Food. This is a food mall type of place but with a whole lot of pizazz. There are 12 food stalls and a full-service community bar.
This a very cool stairway decorated with pillows, painting, tables and chairs on landings, and fake trees. We suspect it is used to listen to music evenings. After lunch we walk to the Munck museum to shop for gifts.
We walk to an Irish pub, The Dubliner Folk Pub. It would not be a long walk if Oslo harbor wasn't in the way. We pass by the front of Oslo's amazing opera house. Too bad in winter walking on the roof is not permitted.
The bar has Guiness but not the good glasses. They no longer have Kilkenny.
We join Mike and Elle for dinner at Olivia, an Italian restaurant in the train station. Oslo central station doubles as a huge shopping and restaurant mall! The station is a very short walk from our hotel, something like 50 meters maximum.
