Seattle Day 1

We arrive in downtown Seattle. We have a good room with an ocean view, perhaps a Puget Sound view.

We decide on a walk-about. We ferret out a way to walk (take an elevator) up to Pike's Market.

There is a fish monger where the attendants put on a show throwing fish. When a customer decides on a purchase, the attendant tosses the whole fish to a colleague for packaging.
Here is one salesman throwing a salmon to his colleague.
And the colleague catching the salmon.
Neice Stepanie has recommended a place to eat. We locate it across the street. Purported to be the best chowder in Seattle. We sample four chowders and a lobster roll.
We have tickets to the Dale Chihuli exhibit. We are impressed every time we get a chance to view one of his exhibits.

In the exhibit's outdoor garden, Carol points out the reflections of the Space Needle on the artwork.
Next stop: the top of Seattle's famous Space Needle.

Seattle Boat Ride

After yesterday's busy day, it seemed a good idea to go for a boat ride. Some folks pay for a harbor cruise, CJ elects a more elaborate version of a harbor cruise.

We take a state ferry to an offshore island. It's less expensive, you get a longer ride and see far more. Additionally, we have a nice lunch in a museum deli and a few good brews at the Bainbridge Island brewery.

A harbor cruise runs tight to the waterfront. One doesn't get views like these on a harbor cruise.
